This biography covers so many aspects of the engineer and genius, Nikola Tesla. It goes into depth about his history and his thoughts. It reveals an incredible amount about his character and adds a little drama to it. For instance, the book mentions how Thomas Edison cheated Tesla out of 10,000 dollars by claiming that he was joking. Another instance is where the book mentions how Tesla was already working on radio, but Marconi beat him to the patenting, hence taking a lot of the credit away from Tesla. It also dives a little into his mental health, portraying him as someone who embraced solitude and went too deep into his head to even consider other people.
Additionally, Nikola is portrayed as a visionary. He could envision playing with electricity and complex devices. In fact, we learn that Nikola Tesla used sand to draw out the first concept of the Induction motor (AC motor). The book highlights that although Tesla was a genius, he struggled with social interactions. He apparently never found the point of friends. The point of love. However, he was famed to have said that a dove he befriended was the "love of his life."
I believe this book goes to show that even geniuses have their own quirks, and that brilliance often comes with its own set of challenges. Tesla's story is a reminder that true innovation requires not just intelligence, but the courage to be different. To follow a vision that others may not yet understand.
~ Daniel I.
It is true that Tesla was a visionary with such complex ideas that not anyone at the time would have being able to understand the surface of the ideas. He is such an influential figure with such an interesting mindset. I found it funny how people say that the dove was the love of his life, but he did loved birds, and even spent 2,000 dollars to fix a dove leg and wind. Thanks you Daniel, for such an interesting an unique summary of the biography,
